Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Blood Is Thicker Than Water

A Poem by Dark Tower

Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Where do we pick up from
Now that all has been said and done
We stand stand in the wake of our respective decisions
Mourning the feelings awaken by perspective given

I'm so confused
Not sure what to do
Not sure what to feel
Shaken by the bleeding wounds
Wounds on the heart never truly heal

Would you even know to miss me if tomorrow I was gone
If I became the victim of some senseless slaughter
I thought we shared a special family bond
But then again
As they say blood is thicker than water
I lack the blood or uniform complexion
And as each memory of us
Is brought forward for closer inspection
I see a lot of signs
So obvious
But I was too hopeful to pay attention

I mourn the loss of you sometimes
And occasionally I cry
Eyes closed
Hands together
Knees bent
Praying to God the pain wont last
But I've grown accustomed
To watching loved fade away.
