Dream Of Nightmares

Dream Of Nightmares

A Poem by Dark Tower

Dream Of Nightmares

You can see it in your eyes

You’re hurt

Tears born in your eyes

Dig their graves in your shirt

You’re trapped in this state

You cant break out

Cannot escape this tragic fate

You’re trapped in the dark and no one hears you when you call

You scratch, claw, fight and fling yourself against these emotional walls

Your path is unclear like you’re searching for the future in a shattered crystal ball

Birds flying

Babies laughing

Sun’s shining

Suddenly everything goes dark

Birds become twisted evil vultures

And babies are struck by lightening

You live in this twisted demented dream

Where happiness is harpy masked with heavy amounts of make up

Whos gentle hands turn into sadistic claws eager to make you bleed

You’re tired of masking the pain

Eyes are blackened clouds

Tears their rain

You succumb

And grow your fingernails

Long enough to open your veins.

The first half of this poem was very, very well written. I was impressed, though it seemed to have lost a bit of its refinement after that, but still, I liked it.

Dark poem. Is this about drug abuse or alcohol i keep imagining that and images from the divine comedy: purgatory. This was a profound piece.

This makes me feel as if you are talking to me. It is almost too scary that I relate to this but you know, that's life I guess. lol Love this. Keep writing. :)
