Born Of In-action

Born Of In-action

A Poem by Dark Tower

The Action Of In-Action

Eyes wet

Making smudging

I can tell she’s been crying

Living life has her feeling like she’s dying

Mom keeps asking

But she keeps denying

Masking

The feeling that clawing at her insides

A pain that hurts more than the marks daddy leaves on her that she hides

Heart bleeding

Senses of hope and self-worth both receding

She sits in the dark

And feels the warm breath of demons tantalising her with visions of freedom found in death

Long sleeves

Long Jeans

To hide the bruised flesh

Moving silently so as not to raise alarm bells

But she finally decided shes had enough

And will not continue to live this life of hell

She makes a break for the door

But daddy’s there

Liquor in hand, he grabs her hair, and throws on to the floor

Lights flash in front of her eyes

Fear grips, and she feels paralysed

She can’t see, but knows what’s going to happen next

Daddy’s fist connects with face flesh

Each punch followed by a compassionless kiss

Silently

Desperately

In her mind her mothers praying

But either he’s not there

Or this is Gods way of saying

This is a situation of your making

Her screams a haunting punishment for closing your eyes to the abuse

Allowing that wicked sinner to put your daughter to sadistic use

Shes scared

She knows what’s going to happen next

Cries herself into the darkness as her husband violently applying himself to her daughters most sacred flesh

A powerful and sad story. Some actions make us know anger and disappointment. This poem create sadness to the reader. Violence destroyed life and families. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
