Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis

A Poem by Dark Tower

Metamorphosis

Are we in love

Or are we just lost in the confusing folds of lust

As we jump over hurdles and barriers

Created by a lack of trust

And we’re proud and stubborn

So the more they come at us

And the more they try to call our bluff

The more we pull together and insist that too much

Will never be enough

Even though the smile wrinkles

Have become ridges for your tears

And the excitement of our meetings

Has turned into the sum of our fears

Our love morphed

Into this monster you see here

Romeo and Juliet is with whom they used to compare us

But sometimes I wonder if they would ever survive in this era

If we play out like they did

Then I guess the scene with my death must be getting nearer

Love does change. People who don't pay attention. Can change to distance and separation. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Two perspectives of love joining to create one? Brilliant.

That was a bad thing Shakespeare did to them, yours will be different.
