With You

With You

A Poem by Dark Tower

With You

Heaven sent angels to guide me to you

Surrounded by love when I am with you

If I told you I loved you would you accept that as truth?

If I held you in my arms as I often want to

Would you hold me back?

Please tell me what you would do.

If I blew you a kiss would you send me one back?

If I sent you a flower tell me what it would mean.

My world is in darkness and you’re the only light that shines

Praying to God for the miracles that would make you mine

I hoping that one day things with us will change

Because the pain of not having you is driving me insane

It hasn’t been long since the day we first met

One bad impression that I always regret

You have no idea just what it would mean

If I spent the rest of my life knowing you were with me

I would wipe away each and every tear

I would overcome all of your fears

I would carve mountains so they resembled you

For me it just feels like we were meant to be

Right in my arms lies your destiny

But then the cold reality

Creeps in.

Holds me down like gravity

I’m sinking.

So much to tell you

Wish you could hear what I’m thinking

I wont give up on us

No I wont

I’m so happy when I see you, and sad when I don’t

I’m not like the other guys out there

I’m better at loving

And when I don’t I feel scared.

I often wish for a moment a little like this:

Arms around you, eyes close, time freezes

I calm my nerves and I hope I don’t miss.

The whole world freezes

And the universe unravels as we share our first ssik/kiss.

Ah, the play with spelling at the end; clever as ever! The replaying and reminiscing (or perhaps a better term would be haunting?) of memories is presented brilliantly in a way that I have yet to see! Amazing!
