DestructionA Poem by Dark TowerDestruction
A fire sweeps through a meadow Destroying everything in its path Flowers, bugs, worms, butterflies All lay as chard reminders of the its wrath Waves of heat so intense that little beads of sweat Drip steadily from the sun It is unrelenting, cruel and without regret The fire is alive Sinking its greedy teeth into the very flesh of mother earth So that nothing in this land again may ever thrive
The once beautiful meadow is now ash No more is it full of trees No more are there flowers No more are there butterflies or bees No more does the sun shine It had long abandoned this haunted place All those memories of hope, joy and love Are lost in the hollow halls of time.
