Come Back Me

Come Back Me

A Poem by Dark Tower

Come Back Me

The days have been cold trying to live them without you

Ever since you left its been harder to just push through the day

Seems like my reasons to my smile followed you when you packed up and went on your way

But I need you back

I need you to bring the sun back into this rainy day

I know things were never perfect I cant deny that

I have that tendency to hurt those I love

Pushed you away a millions time but you just kept coming back

You gave me strength and hope even when I didn’t deserve it

Little B without you I'm nothing but a shadow of our former self

Friends have been forgotten

Dreams have been stacked up on a shelf

The sweetest memories have long gone rotten

I turned to vodka to fill the void and guess for a while it kind of helped

But my friendship with snow flakes and vodka have come at their own cost

Took a look in the mirror this morning and saw nothing in my eyes

but the painful reminder of everything I’ve lost

And I know often resented you for being so soft

But the gentle hearted softness is what made me B and now without it the real me is lost

You the only one who knows what lies deep in my heart

A cluster of hurts and questions held together by the infinite fear of loss

But without you its all starting to fall apart

I can feel it everyday

It gets heavier and heavier with every breath I take

Questions long buried start to surface,

Was I not good enough for them?

Did they want something a little more perfect?

Sometimes I wonder if they took time to kiss me goodbye

But then my head clears

And pray to God with every fibre of my being that they’ve died.

I cant hold it back, the effects are shown in the rings around my eyes

But hand in hand we can push it back B, just you and I

You just need to accept the effect that your demons will never die

You may live your life kid, but you will never own it

The knife embracing your wrist looks tempting don’t it?

The amazing poem got stronger with each set of lines. You can tell a story that feel real and strong. I like the direction of the poem. Leading to a sad ending. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.
