Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by Dark Tower

Letting Go

K just took off

Left me broken hearted

But its okay

I may not have you baby

But I still got me

And I

Don’t walk away from people I say I love

I’ll always stand by

When they hurt me

When they make me cry

To turn my back on a loved one

Is something I’ll never do, not even when I die

Even when I’m dead and buried

I will still love you all so very

Much.

Used to talk so much we missed out so much sleep

There for you whether you wanted to laugh or weep

Always felt this warmth when we spoke

Your voice always gave me a reason to hope

You gave me strength when my back was against the rope

Thought I’d get over you easy

But adapting to not seeing you is rough

I tried to give you my heart

But this time it just wasn’t enough.

A powerful poem. I like the flow of emotion and the learning that the love cannot be. The strong statements made the desire come to life and the pain understandable.

Sometime best to walk away before you get kicked in the head. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

I like the part about still having 'me' most.

For some of us, letting go is the hardest thing to do. It is terrifying and lonely. Your writing it heartfelt, painful, raw...I feel it. I wish I could help ease your suffering, but since I can't, maybe your poems will.

Yes, you will never be with her again. But what or who else might be in your future?

I know that desire.
A good write. Personal and deffintly about a significant lover. The simplicity worked well here and everything flowed nicely. The lines that stood out were

Thought I’d get over you easy
But adapting to not seeing you is rough
I tried to give you my heart
But this time it just wasn’t enough.

She is significant, but the title of lover, I am not sure if it still fits her.
