You know who you are.

Don’t Believe In Rewind

 

I know you want me baby,

And If I’m honest with myself I probably want you too

You are a wonderful lady

So pretty, smart and literature too

But if you close your eyes

And open your memories

To back when you just wanted to be friends

I can’t be good enough for you now

If I wasn’t good enough for you then

 

She says “Hi B”

“How you been? Gosh its been ages since you’ve seen me.”

I nod my head slowly. “Yeah that is true.”

“Oh yeah B, I heard you write poetry, and wouldn’t be sweet if you wrote one for me?”

“Ive always loved a man who can express himself, and you can do it like no one else.”

But if you close your eyes

And open your memories

To back when I had so much love to offer you

But you said we were just too perfect as friends

You know what

I can’t be good enough for you now

If I wasn’t good enough for you then

 

You should stick with your first choice

And you first choice wasn’t B

So please don’t come back to me

I just roll my eyes and laugh every time I hear your voice

Its not about revenge

Its about recognising your friends when they call

Those are the ones that who don’t just come and pick you up when you fall

They’re the ones that are there to make sure you don’t fall at all

Exactly..people seem to drop things that are good before their eyes without even realizing it...rejection doesn't bode nice feelings. Then when they see you're good, when they are lonely, and looking for fulfillment they will seek you out - not with intentions of true love, but because you were a choice, and open before. I wonder, is she still talking to you? i hope you're still there to help each-other through the ups and down's..

I agree. If she was never really your friend, there is nothing there. But sometimes love is slow to be realized. I think the reviewer below is onto something; there is some choppiness. But that has always been your style of expression.

This is strong. Your poetry can be choppy at times, but your expression makes up for it. You just take your feelings and beliefs and throw them onto the page. A lot of people struggle with that concept.
