Alter-EgoA Poem by Dark TowerAlter-Ego I spend my days
being jealous of the man in the mirror They say our lives
are opposite Where I put things
left You put them right
in the closet Maybe in your
world peoples ‘I love yous’ don’t sound so hollow This isn’t one
those odes to self-sorrow There really isn’t
anything in here for you to like So please don’t
pretend there is out of fear of what I might do in spite Let me give you a brief
insight of what’s really inside Nothing. So when I say I
don’t believe in love I’m not bluffing I hear it so many
times that it really just does mean nothing. I can see you
extending your hand Offering me your
help But I’m sorry, I’m
just not that man. You’ll be a lot
happier if you let just let me walk through this alone I don’t want to
force my presence on you I’d much rather
make it on my own Zizo © 2012 Dark TowerReviews
