Believe In LoveA Poem by Dark TowerJust to prove that B.C is back and Zizo (my alter ego) now restsBelieve In Love There’s a candle burning It flames burns strong It is ever burning It is sprayed by the rain of sorrow It smothered by the blankets of words hollow It lights those who seek it from within It stands but tall in the strongest winds It burns away at leaves of lies It reveals the truth in the murkiest eyes It boils and bubbles at the water of deceit It fuels and drives the soul It provides inner nourishment so that you need not eat And when heart is damaged it fills the hole I have searched many years to find it Sailed across oceans on the smallest of ships Climbing up mountains Through jungles and rivers And treacherous relationships Travelled so far I lost all hope and thought I’d gone astray Until Finally arrived on a island far away Where the trees were lush And the grass was green And the flowers bloomed to beauty unseen. The people were kind and fed me well After a few days of rest it was finally time To pack belongings and up the mountain to climb I walked and climbed for days and days And when debris blocked my path I found a way I made it the top heart brimming with hope But alas I found nothing but a small table It was getting dark, so my torched I groped When bent over the table, I found engravings to read: There is no such thing as love But it brings us joy to believe.
