The Power Of The Pen

The Power Of The Pen

A Poem by Dark Tower
"

A writer wields not a simple tool, but a tool with the potential to be a dangerous weapon. Hold your pen with care.

Power Of The Pen

It can create worlds

It can create life

It can create flowers

It can destroys bridges

It can take the lowliest peasant

And give unimaginable riches

It can make the most vicious lion and make him tame

It can take the mightiest man and make lame

It can create intense darkness

It can spark flame

It take the smallest creature and raise it high

It can make the immovable touch the sky

It can bring happiness

It can make you cry

It can make the disfigured look heaven sent

It can make the most powerful man irrelevant

It can give the strength to the weak

Voice to meek

It’s through the pen that a writers heart speaks

It has the power to teach

It has the power to encourage the wounded to fight

It has the power to guide those in the darkness to the light

It has the power to make our secret wishes true

It has the power to take what lies in your imagination and put right it right next you

It has the power to make you

It has the power to break you

It has the power to inspire

It has the power to create love and desire

It has the power to make millions out of a single cent

It has the power to make the world ever silent.

This is very true, a pen can create anything beyond our imagination. I like the repetitions and the way you suddenly cut it by two different verses. It's like a sudden ripple on the surface of a lake.

Very well done!

Great work, as usual!

This is the kind of poem I could imagine on a plaque or at the beginning of a book. I especially like the last line, because it shows the full magnitude of writing's power.

I just thought the poem might have the potential be a little bit more visually engaging if it was center-aligned rather than left-aligned. That way, the differences in line lengths would not be as noticeable, as well as lines that don't start with "It".

Regardless, it's still a wonderful piece. Well done!

I like the use of repetition here. Every word you wrote is a 100% true, very well done.

Thank you.
Writing and voices can change the direction of our world. Look at Martin Luther King Jr. and the many great people who done good and bad. I like the repetition. Made your points loud and clear. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
