Us As Kids

 

I wanna be a pilot

I  love the sky

 

I wanna be a fireman

I love the idea of saving lives

 

I wanna be a doctor

I love helping boys and girls

 

I wanna be the president

I’d love to change the world

 

I wanna be singer

So all can hear my voice

 

I wanna be a teacher

And teach others how to make the right choice

 

I wanna be a swimmer

I love to swim

 

I wanna be a runner

I love to win

 

Age 30+

 

I wanna own a company

Because I want money

 

I need to buy a house

To house my spouse

 

I need to buy a car

For my life is far

 

Me

 

I wanna kid and remember all the dreams I had

For as a kid its not about the money

But how many joys you have

As a kid spent my nights eagerly awaiting the day

As an adult spend my whole day wishing it would go away.

 

I ask you this:

Is better to say: that was a mistake

               Or

Damn I wish….?

A very true piece i often find myself dreaming of the innocence of my youth, despite people saying that 20 is old enough and i am already all grown up now i still believe there is more corruption of childish thoughts to come... children retain a beatiful ignorance and innocence they have the minds of true dreamers, and its beautiful.
I love this piece, the flow is a bit off at part but it makes you wonder perhaps on our own life choices and our obession as a species with money

i agree with what you said, as children we are dreamers, and as children are dreams are not based on the money or the success, its all about what makes us happy, but somewhere along the line we conform to pressures of society and cast aside those dreams and instead we choose knew ones, but we dont choose them because they make us happy, we choose them because they will bring us a lot of money, todays society is one that sadly believes that money will bring us our happiness and think thats really sad.

Sadly though we now live in a society were that is the case, we are forced to strive for money because without it we are left to rot like insignificant existances rather than human beings.... we have no choice to but to follow trend or get trampled under foot and forgotten

I intend to keep mine! I still remember I wanted to be an airplane pilot in kindergarten because I thought it would be cool and plus we had to pick something quick xDDD so it's not really my dream. I wish I had one but now my dream is to become a great artist and a nurse so I can remember a lot of the smiles that I'll hopefully make and learn through the painful memories too.
