Obsession

Obsession

A Poem by Dark Tower

Obsession

I think Im addicted to quick fixes
Withdrawn from crack so bad my blood itches
I tell people you were my first the sad truth is you were my worst
You squeezed every drop of love out me until my heart burst

We could have been the greatest love story ever told
Now I'm reduced to hiding in the corner of your eyes
Hidden in the shadows following everywhere you go
I know you side goodbye, but it doesn't count
Thats what I told myself everyday since you threw me out
You were just mad
You didn't know what you were talking about
You didn't mean to fall in love again and leave me behind
So I'll follow until the day you change your mind

Its been months but I'm still not the one you want
I'd give anything to see your smile from the front
But the judge gave you paper
That said you'd be safer If I just kept my distance
I hope things get better between us soon
I don't like having to wait until you're sleeping to enter your room
Three years ago you said was your destiny
Now I'm rummaging through your drawers looking for anything that will tell me you still love me

Your face is plastered all over my walls
That I'll know you're with me, even if these walls should fall
Razor touches wrists as I blow you one more kiss before my hand slips
Body feels so hot, my heart will still be for you even when the beating stops.
