Fire & Ice

Fire & Ice

The fire spreads through the tunnels of our heart
Setting light to the once dimmed candles of our love
Warmth spreads through me
Warming me
Fuelling me
Giving strength to the fool hardy notions of ever lasting love we once had
The fire burns bright and keeps at bay all doubts and reasons we once had
Our love
Our affections
Our lust
They burn intense and long
It seems now
Now that we are entwined in the warmth of each others embraces
That nothing will ever be wrong

Too long we sit in the warmth of our lovely deceit
And with no hugs, kisses and flatteries to fuel the heat
The fire burns less bright
And from the corners of our hearts comes the ice
It freezes long kept memories
And the souls that were once lovers turn into enemies
