Or So They Say

Or So They Say

A Poem by DarkShines

The severance of a flow

The pain of a forgotten soul

Writhing and crying

So tired of trying

The death of his albatross

Leaving in this cold place

A mournful air and heavy loss

And a blankness on his face

The light-hearted muse

Takes her final bow

With no feeling left to abuse

He didn't care now

"Good things come to those that wait"

Or so they say

But cynicism predicts another fate

On a less fufilling day

The death of a serene feeling

The forgotten now see

The destruction of an innocent being

The forgotten now believe

such wonderful flow. Nothing was choppy and the word choice was simply amazing. Such a great poem. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of your work.

This was really great. My favorite lines are definitely the middle two in the last stanza. "The forgotten now see/The destruction of an innocent being" Awesome job
