Today's Future In A Desolate Place

Today's Future In A Desolate Place

A Poem by DarkShines

Weightless falling

Drifting among the drones

Gravitating towards an end

With no beginning

And no one knows what to do

Decaying Skies

And drying oceans

Yet we continue foreword

With little care

Completely unaware

Broken systems

Shattered dreams

No truth in sight

Who to blame?

Who to fight?

Our freedom buckling and settling in the dust

Imploding from all the abuse

Dwindling away

In front of our eyes

But outside our minds

No hope for now

No hope for today

No hope for tomorrow

'Cause by tomorrow

We'll already be dead

Apart from some small cosmetic fixes. Some breaking of the other lines, over all a nice piece.

such a free write , brings one into such deep thought. What is the image of death? Where do we go after we die? Are we even living, perhaps were already dead.
haha makes my head hurt just thinking of all , of all the what if's.
But, very interesting poem nonetheless.

stay strong my fellow soldier

This poem is drenched in hopelessness. You voice your concerns about fighting and your fear of becoming one of the apathetic "sheeple" very well, and it's quite appropriately dark.
