Run For My LifeA Poem by DarkShinesThey'll leave you When you need them the most Turn their backs and run In that city by the coast
They don't know you son And you don't know much more You're just running blind Headlong where there's no door
You're throwing away opportunities That I never had You need to listen to what I say Listen to your old dad
-----
I hear what you're saying But my words fall to the deaf I know and can hear you praying But I know what's best
The world isn't always the cold place You grew up to know Sometimes people are what they seem Not always out for their own
My life sits three thousand miles east I know you're scared I won't come back But I need you to know I believe in my path Even if I end up a penniless, lonely hack
