     The stone seal trembled as the ground shook beneath my feet.  Cracks could already be seen as creatures of darkness clawed their way into my world.  They were piercing the Veil.  The battle was immanent.  We were out of time.

 

     Glancing back I paused.  My eyes lingered on his wind blown blond hair.  Bry stood poised for battle.  His muscles flexed beneath the moonlight and I saw the tension in his face.  We both knew what must be done.  I only prayed we possessed the means.
