Mind GamesA Poem by DarkPoemsA girl dies and her sister refuses to accept her passing.Thoughts swirl around the head of a young girl playing dead her eyes glisten a beauteous black as her final breath leaves and limbs go slack
I know she's faking sounds of bones breaking echoes in the room in denial my suspicions bloom
worlds of black and white contradict and make viewers contrite lines of reality and hope blur as I try to remember what we were
her hair a fiery red matches the color she bled blood now dry makes me begin to wonder why I believe she is still alive
I feel in my empty heart That her life just can’t depart What was once so vibrant is now stone cold but shines like a diamond
I yearn to hold the body of this girl who used to embody all that was good and loving but now my mind is shoving
her into the place where darkness creeps and my depression creeps into my reality
Without her my world tumbles into a blur time slips into an erratic rhythm and words fall incoherently with them
I’m scared to let my mind wander of her memory I grow fonder but the regrets stir like lukewarm coffee and I cease to know who is me
I hear the crackle of thoughts echoing in my head of a young girl pretending to play dead © 2015 DarkPoemsAuthor's Note
