A Poem by Elizabeth

Your laughter rings in my ears
The way you call my name
In that playful tone
We've been together all these years
It's difficult to now be alone

I guess it was foolish
To think you'll be here till the end of time
My heart aches, my grief grows
As we bid our last goodbye

My sorrow pools as tears
Your faint memory lingers on my mind
That wistful smile, that subtle scent
Our once upon a time
Doesn't have a happy end

Your touch, your feel
All my wounds that you heal
It feels I've hit an all time low
But I smile through my tears
Because even though you're no longer here
Your memories bring a warm glow

Hello dear Elizabeth. I loved the poetry.
"All the spinning and the grinning
Living fully in the now
Through the stumbling and bumbling
Until the final bow"
Love can be sweet and love can be hurtful. But we do need the touch of love. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
