Drifting AwayA Poem by Elizabeth
I wish time could stop
So that this moment, these feelings, this passion Wouldn't ever fade From the blinding sun I finally found shade I wish time would stop The happiness, the joy the memories being made Wouldn't just be something I'd look back on fondly My happiness tinged with sadness My smile along with the tears that'll flow As I look at the light that casted this shadow Everything will change to something I'll just be nostalgic over Forgetting most of my memories, barring some I hope that day wouldn't ever come Never wanting to be distant from this feeling I cherish every moment Yet I can't stop my skin from prickling Every time I think about the end Only if there was something I could do to stop this moment from fleeting by The pain in my chest grows As nearer comes the time to say goodbye "Just enjoy the ride! Don't think about the future" Are things I everyday hear How do I make them understand? That with love, inevitably comes fear © 2022 ElizabethAuthor's Note
