![]() Love, UnjudgedA Poem by Elizabeth
What should be the chance
of me having a forbidden romance? The love for him that I feel Nothing else feels more real The feeling that I harbor so innocent, so pure Tarnished by the jeers that I could everyday hear They laugh at me They ask me - "have I no standards?" They don't believe what they see call us real life beauty and the beast But it is not him who is the beast, but the rest of the world With blindfolded eyes, they don't see his worth Their laughter in my ear keeps playing on and on I break down and take the bait and when I look back, he's gone
