Rain Over Me

Rain Over Me

A Poem by Jared Kardos

I step outside & stare into the sky,
A mix of light and dark grey,
Hinting, threatening, prophesizing
The upcoming storm.

Go ahead, I say.
Rain over me.
Throw every drop you can.
Pour the oceans on my face
& the lakes into my shoes.
I will stay out & laugh at the empty threat.

Lighting strikes,
A jagged white line like the sky has been broken.
Thunder roars, seconds later,
No threat, just the elements in play.

So go ahead,
Rain over me.
I'll play right along side you.

A positive poem and outlook on things. You could have made it a gloomy type of poem but instead you turned it around. Kudos on that. T

I love this poem, I think that it has a great view on life in a way... you won't let the elements take you down... It kind of made me think of how one cartoon character always has a cloud of rain pouring down on him and he's really gloomy and such.... This shows that no matter how bad the rain is... it wont bring the person down.... Great Job! Now i wish it would rain lol...

Nice. Every day it can rain, but there will always be sunlight sometimes. The beginning is dark, and then the end finishes it on a playful, happier note. Its nice. its well written, has a good flow and drifts along nicely. XX

I love rain storms! For some reason they have always calmed me, made me feel one with everything around me, and now that I sound like a complete hippie... I really liked this a lot, it embodied the free spirit and the wild side of nature. Great write.
