Never-ending Battle

A lot has happened to me in my life over the past few weeks and this is the best possible way I can possibly be able to describe it

 The man was panting heavily, he looked up at his opponent that stood before him. It was a mighty Demon, standing high above him, looking down upon him menacingly. The demon gave him a mighty kick to his side and the man went flying. The man was weak from battle and was coughing blood. The Demon laughed at the man and said "You are weak and pathetic. We have had this battle for many years, I have won many a battle and you have won so little. Just give up you pathetic worm, accept that you have lost."

 The man struggled to get back up to his feet, still panting heavily. Once he got back up to his feet, the Demon kicked him back down and laughed at him once more "This goes to show how pathetic you are. You can't even stand your own against your own enemy. Give up boy, you are worth nothing and that is how it will always be. The man was not ready to give up. He got back to his feet once more, but this time the Demon did nothing, but speak "You keep getting back up even after I knock you back down time and time again. Why do you keep fighting? Why don't you just accept that you're nothing? JUST GIVE UP!" 

 The man looked behind the Demon and saw what he thought was a mere illusion. It was not. What he saw was truly a sight for sore eyes. He saw a beautiful angel. The angel smiled and mouthed some words to him that at first he could not understand, but he thought about it and understood completely. He looked at the Demon and said "You have asked me for many years why I kept fighting. Well now I'm going to tell you." 

He started to walk towards the Demon, blade in hand. "When I first met you all those years ago, I was determined to not let you win. But as time passed you proved to be stronger than me and some battles I just gave up and let you win. Some battles I knew I would win and would not give up. You have penetrated deep into a sacred place that I vowed to protect." He was looking the Demon right into his menacing red as flame eyes. "The truth is for the longest time I had nothing to fight for."

 He looked behind the Demon again and the angel was still there. "But now that has changed. I have an angel that watches over me, that will protect me and care for me. I now know why I fight you." He readied his blade "I fight not for myself, but for the angel that watches over me. I fight you, so I can banish you from this sacred place and never allow you to return!"

 The Demon hissed "You are nothing boy! You will perish, there is no one here for you! You will die here, alone and forgotten!" The man smirked "We shall see. As long as my angel is with me, I know I have nothing to fear." The two enemies clashed their weapons once more, the never-ending battle rages on.
