Thousands of Poems (second draft)A Poem by NoPoetrywipI have ideas about what’s beyond the wall I’m climbing I’ve written hundreds of poems guessing, hundreds more about progress Hundreds more about failure when I lose footing, dangling from the harness Hundreds of poems about you, hypothetical you, a friend, a life I’ve lived in pages Maybe I’ll meet you one day if I climb out of these daydreams, waiting away ages The past makes good mortar, I’ve mixed many batches with hundreds of poems. Laying brick, back tracking as far as the eye can see. Hundreds of poems about real adventures from before. Is there something you believe that I’m too skeptical too feel? I’ve got a few hundred poems about love being unimportant, a few hundred more about feeling incomplete. I have ideas about what’s beyond the wall I’m climbing; a thousand poems I can write about being divided © 2019 NoPoetryReviews
