The PromiseA Poem by John SabadoThis is about a broken hearted person, addressing his/her former love about some sort of promise, a promise that the other could not keep.
I trusted the will of fire
In situations most dire True love brings everything Then fades to nothing My angel promised happiness She's given only sadness How long do you plan this charade Stop ruining my parade I promised you everything Everything love could bring You turned your back, walked away Leaving me in dismay Give me a try before you say goodbye That's the least you could do After all I've done for you The promise once held Now only pain is felt I thought you were the one I guess we really are done Remember my name, you'll hear it again Every now and then It'll call to you in the night, young Miss Reminding you of the broken promise
