Soldiers of Death

Soldiers of Death

A Poem by Dark Beauty

Through the twilight hours
soldiers of death march
along the rivers of blood and decay
stars do not shine down
and only thorny bushes remain

Mighty wings glisten with pleasurable pain
images howling in the barren winds
whispers of nightly creatures
heard in the ringing of bells

Soldiers of death march on
routine list checked
hands of these shadow demons
grip tight
laying all life to rest

Any feedback? Don't change a thing. It is wonderfully atmospheric with wonderful discription. Not a single thing you could add or take away.

I dont think there is anything that i would change about this piece. Its very descriptive and has an eerie quality to it. I like how you describe these creatures and the aftermath of their passing. Even the brevity adds to the power, because what else is there to say about death?

Could be a good Halloween poem

Powerful vision of blackness and the thorny way, of wings that hurt and bells that toll the deathknell for all who will be taken in the grip of death... Nicely disturbing
