Prayers in the Night

Prayers in the Night

A Poem by Dark Beauty

Wandering soul
in the crimson night
cloaked with thoughts
of an unending time

Prayers of dark fill my sleep
from ravaged angels
painful knots felt within my heart beat
wrap me tight in your wings of rapture

I feel the damp cold breeze
of your wings of flight
taking those prayers
to the full moon light

Turmoil and tears
quench my yearning
hands shake for the prayers of night
ravaged angels truly grip tight

Making fate come alive
with new lands to tread
bringing me gifts
of blackened hearts of dead

No light only dark lives here
twisted in silence
I hear no more
for death has taken me

On a journey once more

This poem is so emotionally charged and gut wrenching. The imagery is priceless. I feel every word and its like a dark picture is being painted before my eyes. In fact, I feel as if I've been in this place before and I can relate. Very good job! Two thumbs up for sure!

just my taste in a dark poem I loved reading it from beginning to end my favorite stanza was this..

"No light only dark lives here
twisted in silence
I hear no more
for death has taken me

On a journey once more"

With prayers of the night surely death has something to do with taking a soul away from it's body even if it is a prayer of the night only to return it before the morning light...great poem! as I said before I did love it.

Night prayers are ones said out of many emotions the day has thrust upon us. This was a elegant reminder of that.

"Ravaged Angels" loved this point in the poem, I often picture the angels locked in battle for either side, good or evil. Love this as I do all of your pieces!

We are often taken on journeys through the dark night of our souls to find ourselves bathing in light on the other side.. A journey is nothing more then a re birth of a part of ourselves, as far as beliefs, emotions, or physical changes.. I really love this, it describes that journey to self very well..x.x

Stunning. This is an example of existential angst pounded out into memorable prose. A bit dark, a bit retrospective, a bit hopeful. I like this.

I focused on the soul. My impression is that it has left a body and is searching for a new body to inhabit. I identify, as i am of the belief that souls keep returning until all lessons of enlightenment are realized.
Fine, fine writing.
