Fading Away         

I saw her pull the trigger, and she fell to the floor. “Sophia!!!!” I cried as I knelt at her side and slowly cradled her head as I set her in my lap. “Sophia!? Come on talk to me!” I said as I shook her gently. “No… you can’t do this to me!” I screamed, tears rolling down my face. “I love you…” I whispered. I buried my face against her cold body and started crying. I kept begging her to come back… I kept thinking that if I begged enough… she would open her eyes… and say my name. It was never going to happen. I opened my eyes and stared at her peaceful angelic face. Then, I noticed that she was starting to fade away, like she was the sun being covered up by the clouds on a rainy day. “No…no no!!!! Don’t go.” I said as I tried to hold onto her, but it was no use. She was fading… fading away... My angel… was gone.
