The Land of MelancholyA Poem by everwanderAnother shot of melodrama. Pure random writing. Enjoy.
Standing at the brink
Shadowed in the light Cast away and aside Like a worn toy Use is at end Cast aside useless Worthless, torn Alone, lost At the end of all things When all is over and done The tides turned The moon held high Heads bowed in shame Tears drawn behind eyes Secrets whispered in the mist Eyes revealing all of the heart Alone, alone, so very alone Shadowed by grief, so lost Companions, none Family, never Love, once before Gone, gone! All around nothingness Blank, dismal A wide space of hell Not a soul, not a being of life To walk forever A shadow, just a shadow Dearest shadow Whatever happened to us both? To be brought down to such a level A level of condemnation and doubt Yet shadow, here we are Together, alone Forever, just us, a pair What a life we once had Full of vigor and sprite Yet, dear shadow Here we are in the end Memories bring only sadness Stretching the hole inside So, together, lets forget Forget the happiness Forget the joy Forget it all... And live in this melancholy Now and forever more © 2008 everwanderAuthor's Note
