That Trodden Path of ForeverA Poem by everwanderA poem smack full of our ever so favorite and love melodrama. Enjoy. Don't massacre it, por favor.
You walk down a path so long...
Like how time ticks on by... The sun fades to the rising moon... You forget where you were going To have trodden a path for so long To forget its very purpose Or even your own purpose... To have forgotten everything Where a heart stood A gouging hole, cold it stands Waiting for nothing... Hearing only a lingering pulse A sinister reminder it lays To never leave you... To always haunt you... Like a phantom... Full intent upon revenge It is set to destroy An eye for an eye... Wit without To stand at the brink of utter ruin And watch as life ticks on by... Forgetting all... Knowing and seeing just shadows Shadows of a past You so long to forget The moon is high now A lonely pearl in the velvet sky It whispers of mystery Darkness knows naught its source So instead it burrows Hides away in the only place it knows The darkness that only we know of Our very souls are tainted by it Our minds snared We are enslaved to it Forever to walk down a cold path Forever...forever...forever... Forever to be lost Forever to be alone Forever...will always be forever... © 2008 everwanderAuthor's Note
