The Divine

The Divine

A Poem by Dark2Light

A friend of mine died alone

In a strange land, singing a sad song

The preacher said he was tired and hungry

Then he tried to sell us a band aid for our souls.

I heard a message of love from the godless

And a message of hate from the saved

I became a child of divinity

In an empty space

I learned that the light doesn’t just shine on a few,

It is the birth right of all of us too

The great ones left breadcrumbs to the other side

Road maps to freedom, instructions on how to be them

We are all divine.
