I am the wolf, terrifying like a savage beast. I can gobble you with one bite, because I never let my prey out of sight. But this highly descriptive piece is just an age-old stereotype from the fairy tales because in reality I am a nice well behaved pup who keeps to himself and leads a private life.
_____
Wolves like me are always being targeted by the other animals. It isn't our fault three pigs decided to build their well constructed houses in our territory without proper authorization. We believed we were right and we put up a fight. But those pigs I tell you, they are the real murderers. They cooked my dear friend in a pot of soup. In the end, our pack was put to shame while those troublesome pigs were declared saints and rose to fame.
_____
Then came a delicate girl whose name was Red Riding Hood. I truly wish it was a fox instead of a wolf that crossed paths with that cursed hood. The innocent wolf had a long interaction with little Red but didn't know she had a long fixation on the idea of death. It was she who forced my dear brother to devour her and her grandmother. In the end, it was him who was killed by the ax of a lumberjack and little Red's desire remained unfulfilled

Us wolves are not horrible, we are just misunderstood creatures who are awaiting a day when justice will be granted. It's a day that might never come but for now just call us dreamers. In the meantime, this stereotype will prolong so beware! I am a wolf and while I am good hearted, the stories show that I am menacing and cruel. Even when I am right I am still wrong!
Hi everyone so I would just like to clarify that I tried adding an image of what I wrote but I can see the font was a little small and may strain eyes. I couldn't find another way to enlarge the photo and I didn't want to delete it either... So I added an image of the piece and a typed out version of the story below just incase :)
This is similar to my poem/story " Humanity Behind the Evil" in the sense that I am talking about the big bad wolf from fairytale such as the 3 Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. Feedback is always appreicated :)

I loved wolves growing up and I even have a tattoo of one on my back from when I was in the Navy. So, I enjoyed this, it made me want to make a sign that says, "Wolves are people too", and go picket the capital. LOL. Seriously, I liked how it was written in first person and laid out all the injustice with a bit of tongue in cheek.

Your description of the wolf is right on. I must admit when I read the second paragraph, I laughed. I thought that was so funny. Your story surely conveys why wolves are misunderstood. You did an awesome job on this piece of work.

Wow loved this
I think all animals are misunderstood
Pigs are intelligent like dogs I feel for them so much
Wolves may be like Aussie dingos. Wild dogs
Bears are scary for me I’d rather not see one
I like this write makes one think
Animals like humans are misunderstood pre judged and like to be free

I really like this. Wolves are some of my favourite animals and I hate how --like hyenas-- they get such a bad reputation for doing exactly whet they're meant to be doing. It feeds into so many negative things, like a lack of care for how vulnerable wolf populations are.
So, first off, thank you for contributing to removing those stereotypes.
Secondly, the voice of the wolf comes through really well and really distinctly. You use the popular fairy tales really well, and give us a fresh perspective on the tales, which is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

I feel that every fairytale has two sides to the story, which was my inspiration for writing this story. Wolves, while they may look dangerous, and can be at times, are also independent and quiet creatures I think.
Amusing and serious at the same time. This spring there is a lot of discussion about farmers in neighboring northern Idaho being given free rein to kill as many wolves as they can because wolves have killed three (three!) bovine calves. Apparently humans can kill calves for food, but wolves cannot.

So sorry, I thought I replied to this comment. And you bring up an interesting point, it's fine when humans kill for food, but when wolves do it, they are given a bad reputation.
I declare that your wonderful poem/story simply must be the official exposition, and reprise to both "The Three Little Pigs" and "Little Red Riding Hood". The wolf is always seemingly the villain in fairy tales, even when they are acting on sheer instinct. While it is true that wolves can do harm, they are generally only protecting themselves or curiosity has gotten the best of them. I believe that one day, justice will be granted to the wolves. I certainly enjoyed reading your work. And thank you for sharing your wonderful work of art in poetic form.
Haha...this is like the back story of the 3 pigs and little red.....the stuff left on the cutting room floor. Interesting approach and a fun read. Thank you, Aura. Temp
