Just a Girl.

Just a Girl.

A Poem by Stormy Weather

I’m just a girl you’ll forget about tomorrow,

The one who can always tell when you’re blue.

I’m just a girl who will give you my heart,

The one who you won’t return it to.

I’m just a girl who will smile as you pass,

The one who will always call you a friend.

I’m just a girl whose name you can’t remember,

The one whose existence has a sad end.

I’m just a girl no one sees,

The one hidden from all eyes.

I’m just a girl trying to be honest,

The one fighting to break through the lies.

I’m just a girl that nobody knows,

The one they say they have figured out.

I’m just a girl trapped underneath the surface,

The one who’s fighting to get out.

i love this poem; especially because it's at a level i can relate to. the last lines "I'm just a girl trapped underneath the surface, the one who's fighting to get out" makes me think of her desire to show the world who she really is and right their wrong misconceptions. thanks for this.

This is easily relatable. Personally, I believe I'm "just a girl" too. It hurts when no body really knows you, and you try to break through the surface and just be you. A sad piece, but I love it!
