Where Lights Do Not Exist.

Where Lights Do Not Exist.

A Poem by Stormy Weather

Take my hand; let’s return to the land where lights do not exist.

I’ve fallen from the stars too many times to truly hurt like this.

You’re face haunts me like the shadows dancing on my wall.

If you’re on the ground how can you really fall?

The sun reveals the truths I try so desperately to escape.

So, bring the moon back out to shield you from my lying face.

If love truly exists, may it be light-years away.

I don’t really care, as long as you promise to stay.

Take my hand; let’s return to the land where lights do not exist.

The most honest word I’ve ever spoken is the whisper before the kiss.

While time freezes, I can’t cry here alone in the dark.

If I reach out my hand, I can feel you, you’re really not that far.

The rain clouds keep falling on top of us ever so lightly.

They keep us warm as we listen to the moon sing to us nightly.

If love truly exists, may it be light-years away.

I don’t really care, as long as you promise, please, to stay.

I’ve told the night too many times to keep you away from me.

But, really what I was wishing, was to let my heart be.

I may not understand the concepts you bring to mind.

All I really know is that I want you to be mine.

And for you to take my hand, and go to the land where lights do not exist.
