Nicotine.A Poem by Stormy WeatherYour mouth tastes of lonely nights and missed calls With a hint of nicotine. After we’ve been together, I run my hands over the places
you’ve caressed me In a search to feel the beauty you felt when you were there But every time, all I feel is skin. Your name reminds me of crying in the shower to avoid
feeling the tears on my face And it sounds so sexy. I was broken before you met me, But those jagged pieces have a way of making themselves
shatter. It was snowing when you
kissed me for the first time And I ran inside because I wasn’t sure if I was cold because
of the weather Or hot because of you. And no matter how many times I’ve felt you digging my grave
as you hungrily watched me The feel of your body against mine is my childhood blanket
that I keep in my sock drawer. Your drunken eyes exist more than your sober ones, and your
calls always fall on the crack of dawn. But your smile is like a photograph. Your stare makes me want to die just as much as it makes me
want to touch you. I don’t know which direction I’m going to take. © 2013 Stormy WeatherReviews
