Pets.A Poem by Stormy WeatherI never wet the bed. So I pushed it down, down,
down. I was always well-behaved. So I pushed it down even further. My cat scratched at the door so I kept it closed. I didn't want your face tonight. I was a good student. So I set it on fire. I was fourteen. So I buried it under the Blackberry bushes. My cat called for me but I couldn't answer. I had accidentally buried my voice, too. She touched me. And it re-animated. I burned the memories. It extinguished them. My cat wanted me to feed her. But I couldn't. You were touching me, again. I don’t know why, I was always such a good kid. © 2013 Stormy WeatherReviews
