Desperate.

Desperate.

A Poem by Stormy Weather

You make me fall like a glass off a counter top. Sudden and shattering.

But it’s not your fault.

It’s in my nature to always stand, teetering on the edge.

Waiting for an excuse to jump.

And then when the time comes, and I step back,

I will cry and say that you've saved my life.

But don’t listen.

Unless you want me to fall.

Whenever I've written a poem, I like to read it over and over again so that I remember what it's about. Sometimes I wonder if the people who read it can see what I mean, too.

I think in this case, I know exactly what you mean by the third line. And I know the regret that comes with it. This is so convoluted and paradoxical and it makes perfect sense.
