This poem was written by my ex-girlfriend while we were still together. This poem holds a special place in my heart and gives my future hope for the unexpected.

There's something strange
_____within those dark eyes
His voice changes
_____when he speaks to me
I was raised to believe
There wouldn't be anything
Behind a lover's deception
But there's something different
_____Here in his embrace
He touches me gently
_____Afraid I might break
I've never known this kind,

A clove cigarette
Alive between his lips

Intoxication, inebriation
Wash away the pain and confusion
Anything and everything
