O Mother

O Mother

A Poem by Darius Chinoy
"

I wrote this for my mother in 2002. The amount of trouble I gave this gentle soul, this is my way of saying I love you. This is my prayer. Love your only son Darry

"

Oh mother...

You breath life into me

You bore me for the world to see

You held my hand when I had my first walk

You heard me when I had my first talk

You gave me food to eat

You put shoes on my feet

You gave me clothes to wear

You gave me strength to dare

You are my prayer

You are my soothsayer

You are the reason I am I

You are the reason what am I

You were behind me all those years

Now I know I was reason for all those tears

My mother

I understand now the love you have for me each day

I am grateful to you in every way!

Love your only son

Darius
