Gray Love

Gray Love

A Poem by Terrell A. Pullen

He's sitting, Thinking to himself
Boy, My nights have been long
Depression sets in cause he then realizes
Like a certain ranger
Boy, My nights have been lone
Looking for love in places oh so wrong
Trying to figure why he's trapped
Stuck singing love's same old song
He thought it was always right there
But that's why love is not fair
Cause once she sucks him in
He gives his heart but then
Well its like she doesn't even care
He loved her once
Things went sour
He had to leave
He wanted a better life
He had to change some things
She cried and cried couldn't wait for him to come back
Said she would do anything
Now he's trying to return
She's not accepting
He wants to scream
His heart it sings
But not songs of joy
Love she is a trip in a half
Want you til she gets you
Just as if you were a toy
Down he looks as he thinks
What could have gone wrong
Trying to figure why he's trapped
Stuck singing love's same old song
He thought it was always right there
But that's why love is not fair
He's sitting, Thinking to himself
Boy, My nights have been long
Depression sets in cause he then realizes
Like a certain ranger
Boy, My nights have been lone
