Always Be There A Monster

Always Be There A Monster

A Poem by Darien Don
"

We always such for monsters that go bump in the night. The real monsters are staring you in the face.

"

Monster, monster

Listen to me

What you do is evil indeed

You rule over people

You take everything they have

We know you hold no remorse

No regret for your actions

Monster, monster

We trusted you

To lead the people

To be good

Once given the chance

You turned on us

Now we will turn on you

Monster, monster

Here I am

Leading your people

Leading them to take you down

You can run

You can hide

Know that you I’ll always find

Monster, monster

You are at my feet

Begging for your life

Pleading for mercy

Begging is too late

Pleading is irrelevant

I strike you down without kindness

Monster, monster

You have no last words

No good-byes

All you give me is a smile

Then, you die

I turn to see the people watching me

His smile is not misplaced as I hear the people say

“Monster, monster

Listen to me.”
