Little DreamerA Poem by DareenThe Olympic dream
I tried to be perfect, I tried to be different, All I get is, "Live your life like a normal person, for once." And from the outside, what am I, but nobody? If no-one saw all the immaculate planning and obsessive dreaming, the Olympic rings scribbled all over the walls, the charts, the money-saving, what would they say? "That's just an unhappy teen," probably, Never "That's just a Little Dreamer." Because I never get the chance to ride at those competitions, Whose prizes and trophies I could steal with one ride; No, my talent is saved for the riding school's arena, once a week. What is there left to do, when you have taken it quietly, when you have exploded, when you have cried, when you have begged, when you have argued, when you have [tried to] convinced, when you have laboured to ride at your own expense, only to be told No? What is there to be done, except the one thing you have always done through it all Write? © 2010 DareenFeatured Review
