Searching For the Unreal

Searching For the Unreal

A Poem by maddy

Fear and pain it was dragging me down to a dark place,

Forcing me not to see what was staring me in the face,

My life always focused on what used to be,

Instead of on what was becoming of me,

Pushing every one as far away as possible,

My behaviors out of control as if unstoppable.

Running away from my life, I left it all behind,

A perfect life was what I was searching to find,

But someone once told me “aint no such place”,

But I all I cared about was starting the chase.

I found where I wanted to be and I thought I had it all,

But that day came and went and it only made me fall,

For the grass was certainly not greener on the other side,

And that determination inside of me suddenly died,

It made me realize I didn’t want the perfect home,

So now I sit here feeling alone as I write this poem.

Great poem!
The only suggestion I have is to maybe change that last rhyme; 'home' doesn't exactly rhyme with 'poem'.
Other than that, I really like it. Keep up the creativity! :)
