River of My Body

River of My Body

A Poem by maddy

I’ll tear down these walls,

I’ll burn it all to the ground,

Til nothings left to stand,

And only ashes left in vein.

Letting go of what has become of this life,

For not a thing has turned out right.

Let them find these ashes,

For they can follow my tracks,

But I wont give up this life,

Not until I’ve given into myself.

For I’ll run til these soles wear down,

I wont stop til my naked feet meet dirt,

Not a moment to relax til I run short of breath,

For I’ll make it to the highest mountain,

Where the river runs beneath my body,

And I’ll let gravity take its course,

While the river takes me away.
