I See You

Who are you?

Where are you hiding?

Locked away from me

Show me what I can’t see

Bring me in to your silent world

Show me the colors you see there

What makes sense there?

What is out of place?

I want to be there

Do you feel me care?

Do you know how I ache

To show you this whole world?

I know you know me

I see you love me

When you retreat

I don’t know what you show me

When you’re locked in the box

Are you happy there inside?

When you rock when I knock

Do you know that you hide?

I see you thinking

I see you wanting

I feel you feeling

Always hunting

It’s ok here

Nothing will hurt you

Come and see, follow me

I will help you break free

I see you peeking

For a moment you are here

Then you run from the sun

And I can’t find you anywhere

Doesn’t matter how long it takes

I won’t give up ‘til we’re in the same place

If I could go there, I would go in a blink

But I’m here, I need you.  Help me think.

Author's Note

Wanda Lorenz
This is also a song for the screenplay. There's an autistic child in it and this is a lullaby of sorts that is sung to him.

Life fascinates me. I'm happy because I choose to be not because life is perfect. I'm honest because I have to be to actually be happy. I'm endlessly curious about this journey and all the twist an.. more..
