Run

Run

A Poem by Wanda Lorenz
"

Be careful out there. Love is a contact sport - sometimes you get hurt.

"

Run

Run Innocent Run

You don’t want what you’ve begun

Trust me, you don’t wanna see

That hole in your soul when I’m done.

Sly smile, a gentle wink

I know what you think

As you cross in music sync

To buy me a fruity drink

Light touch, glasses clink

You stand on the brink

Of a wild ride

Baby run and hide

You’re in quick sand

When you take my hand

You don’t even know it

I’m not ready to show it

With one grin, I reeled you in

Sealed your fate, pulled the pin

Last chance before we dance

Walk away without a glance

Mercy is mine as I decide

If you are worth the ride

I know how it ends

And your future depends

On my mercy tonight

Run fast from my sight

If I give in and let you begin

The addiction can’t be cured

Reality will be obscured

Pleasure intense ensured

Every day you love and play

Is one day less you get to stay

You can’t be what I need

In the end you’ll bleed

I’ll make you go, but you won’t be freed

I’ll close the door when you’re still in need

I’ll be gone, but you’ll love me still

I’ll move on but you never will
