The Two Princesses Of Seaville

Once upon a time, in the land of Seaville, there were two beautiful princesses. They were sisters named Emmalina and Sarafina. They loved the castle they lived in which was ruled by the good King Mikal and his queen, Kristina. Seaville was a pleasant country where the dragons were friendly, the knights were courteous, and the ocean was always full of cheerful dolphins. The princesses loved to go out dolphin riding on Saturdays and they had special necklaces that they wore that helped them breathe under water. Every Saturday they would grab their necklaces and ride over to Mermaid Lake. All of the mermaids loved Emmalina and Sarafina. The girls would sit on the rocks in the middle of the lake and then braid each others hair. Later they would dive down to the underwater depths of Mermaid Lake and explore the lake, making new fish friends, and playing sharks and minnows.

One day Emmalina and Sarafina went to the lake and sat on the rocks waiting for their friends. One hour passed, then another, but there was no sign of the mermaids. Finally, the princesses swam sadly back home to Seaville castle. The next Saturday the girls went back to the lake, thinking, of course the mermaids would be there today. But when they got to the rocks there was silence and not a mermaid in sight. Just as the princesses left for home again they heard a voice call out to them from far away. "Help!" They turned see one of their mermaid friends, Britalli, swimming towards them as fast as she could. Her beautiful green hair was tangled and she looked very scared. Emmalina helped her up onto the rocks. "What's wrong Britalli? Why weren't you here last Saturday, and where are the rest of our friends?" 

Britalli began to cry, as she told them what had happened. "My sisters and I were swimming around in the water when suddenly a large fish came up and put us in a cage. He said we could only leave if we found the magic stone of wishes. Only one of us was allowed to go search for it, and my sisters picked me. I don't know where to start though, will you girls help me?

"Of course we'll help you!" Sarafina said hugging her friend. "We know it's somewhere in Mermaid Lake, right?

Britalli sat up suddenly. "I just remembered that the large fish told me a riddle as a clue. It went like this. 'Deep underwater the stone will be found. It's hidden where it will stay safe and sound. Find a fish who knows the next clue. He will tell you what to do.' Does that help us any?" She said.

The three girls sat there thinking for a minute or so when suddenly Emmalina had an idea. "I know!" she cried. "Why don't we go ask the dolphins? They've traveled all over the lake so they might have heard something about that!" Tweeeeeeet! Sarafina whistled and two dolphins came skimming over the water to where the princesses sat waiting. Emmalina's dolphin, Starburst, happily clicked and whistled to her owner, as Raindrop, Sarafina's pet, did tricks in the water.
