Canine Companions

Dogs are the purest type of love

They are beloved fur friends, sent from God above

Some of them jump around, eager to play

While others just lounge around and sleep the day away

They understand us more than we think they do

They know when we’re sad, happy, angry, it’s true

They love us and express it the best they know how

A wag of the tail, a kiss or a howl

When we leave them they feel all alone

But they come to life again when we get home!

Running around, their tail wagging as fast as can be

They can hardly contain it, they are ecstatic you see!

When they are old their bodies aren’t the same

They are tired and worn out, but their spirit remains

The love they have for us will never wither or die

And that canine friendship is the very best kind
